A conservation area where water cut three gorges through volcanic rock until they met in a natural amphitheatre. The Apurímac river runs below, turquoise, between walls over a hundred metres high.
It hosts the National Eco-Adventure Festival every April, which fills Suyckutambo with climbers and kayakers.
The same route takes in the Ekowasi and Chaupimayu rock paintings, roughly 7,000 years old, and the Puya Raimondi groves of Ch’awarani — bromeliads that reach twelve metres tall.
