A journey through the land of the K’ana culture, the most important of the high Andean zones of Cusco before the Incas.
You visit the San Juan Bautista temple in Coporaque, carved in wood and covered with gold leaf; Mawk’allaqta, on the banks of the Apurímac; K’anamarka, with its 125 enclosures and funerary chambers; the Arco Punku of Alto Pichigua; the Ch’aquella hot springs, above 45 °C; the colonial stone mills; and the Millipunku waterfall in Condoroma, with a 25-metre drop.
It takes two days because it does not fit into one: Condoroma is 86 km from Espinar and Ocoruro 56 km, in different directions. We would rather say so upfront and have you enjoy the route instead of rushing it.
